  1. Marther Rosler plays with images with the photomontage to seek the positions of the viewer. Her work also questions our preconception of the physical presentation of human beings especially women, as suggestion of social status. Inspired by Vietnam War, she involves her subjective perception of aesthetics and seeks to know what the viewer identifies as real image or the other, which references Foucault’s theory “of other spaces”. This also resonates with Jacques Ranciere’s politics of aesthetic as well as the concept of Thomas Hirschhorn thus art being conceived politically.
